Dr. Geoff Cutler was born on the east coast, raised in Toronto, and after completing his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Queen’s University, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 2017.
After a short time practicing in St John’s, he was charmed by the lifestyle, beauty, and weather of the west coast and has practiced in BC for the last four years. He feels very lucky to call Victoria home, along with his goofball French Bulldog, Oakley (he’d be more than happy to show you pictures). Outside of work, Dr. Cutler can usually be found at the gym, hiking with Oak, and exploring the Island.
Dr. Cutler aspires to help his patients become the best version of themselves: healthy and happy; comfortable and confident. He’s excited to meet you and help you in your journey, whatever your goals may be.
Originally from Calgary, Dr. Eric grew up in his father’s dental lab, where he first learned the art of the smile. He spent the last three years on the Island, practicing dentistry in the Comox Valley.
Dr. Eric’s practice philosophy is to ensure his patients feel safe and informed before, during, and after treatment. He enjoys keeping up with new developments in dentistry and sharing various treatment plan with his patients, so they can always make the most educated decisions regarding their oral health.
Dr. Eric Enger comes from the prairies of Alberta. He received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in immunology and infection while studying at the University of Alberta and later received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
Prior to becoming a dentist, he gained experience for several years working in various industries including oil & gas and as a semi-truck driver. In his practice he emphasizes kindness, compassion and community service for all individuals. While not in the clinic, he enjoys reading about science, technology and keeping up with cutting edge dentistry; he also loves exploring the beautiful West Coast.
Dr. Enger is looking forward to meeting you and helping you reach your ideal smile.
Dr. Frank Van Gyn has been practicing dentistry for 46 years and still enjoys working more than a few days a week at one of his 4 current practices. Growing up in Pigeon Lake, Alberta, Dr. Van Gyn attended the University of Alberta, graduating in 1976. He moved to Victoria BC in 1978 and by 1979 he had opened his first practice in Fairfield Plaza.
Since then he has been a mainstay in the community, known how his cowboy ways, always having a dog by his side, and his big laugh. Family members and friends often pop into the office to see if they can steal him away for a quick coffee in the breakroom. Dr. Van Gyn is very community involved and some of his patients have been with him for over 40 years. He still welcomes new patients and would love to see you.
Dr. Lily Nguyen (“Win”) spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Toronto and Winnipeg before her family settled in Ottawa. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Ottawa and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in sunny south Florida. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon for exemplary character and scholarship. Following dental school, Dr. Nguyen pursued advanced training at a 2-year hospital-based general practice residency at the University of Virginia so that she could be better equipped to treat any type of patient who might sit in her dental chair. During her residency, she served as chief resident in her second year; coordinating and providing treatment to patients with medical complexities including head and neck cancer, organ failure, bleeding disorders and children with special needs.
Having spent the last few years living and working in the US, her feet got itchy again and it was time for a new adventure and a change of scenery. She decided to call Victoria her new home after was charmed off her feet by the island’s natural beauty, friendly faces and relaxing pace. On rainy days, she likes to cozy up with some tea, watch all sorts of cooking programs and learn about different cultures through culinary histories. Otherwise, when the weather is nice, she enjoys getting out into nature, dog-watching, and cultivating her (admittedly amateur) green thumb by puttering around in her urban garden.
Dr. Nguyen believes the best approach to dentistry is prevention through patient education and compassionate, patient-centered care. She is dedicated to providing positive experiences and aims to build genuine relationships with all of her patients, making sure they understand their treatment every step of the way. Her patience and approachability are sure to make you feel at ease. She can’t wait to meet you!
